The WHOLElistic Podcast: Episode 3 - Sensational Relations - Nourishing the nervous system + he living being as a whole

I’m SO stoked to release Ep 3 of the WHOLElistic poddy! This is a special one that I hold close to my heart with my somatic coach Verena from @sensational_relations this a truly insightful chat that I feel would benefit many people tuning into.

We dive into:

  • Verena’s journey + what lead her into this work. How her digestive issues, anxiety, up + down emotions, back pain, sleep issues found her seeking relief in various places that manifested from stress. This ultimately lead her down this path to help herself + then to share with others.

  • Plant medicine + creating a relationship + bond with plants. The medicine in slowing down enough to be present with it + the paradox in integrating plant medicine ceremonies “we are actually getting there faster by slowing things down” + how this relates to the way we live our lives. The gift they give of awareness + ultimately deep release.

  • Nature connection, among other modalities as a portal for healing. Amazon plant medicine in Peru.

  • What somatic coaching actually is- which is not to be confused with somatic therapy or therapy in general. Looking at the living body in it’s wholeness.

  • The difference between talk therapy + somatic coaching. Helping us to get out of the head + into the body. To rewire neural pathways through feeling sensations in the body.

  • What is the nervous system + how do we regulate it? With what tools?

  • How I healed my nervous system + anxiety. Using the body to speak to us through sensation without the thinking brain.

  • Once we have learn the foundations of the nervous system regulation we can work with sexual embodiment. Learning embodied safety- this is coming home to yourself. How accessing pleasure/ life force energy/ sexual energy being apart of our overall health + how carrying shame makes us sick. Authentic pleasure in the body signals safety, energy release that manifests from sexual pleasure from my lived experience. How learning anatomy + how different parts are connected to different organs. Think cervix + Yum.

  • How past experiences can keep our nervous systems stuck + disconnected from the present + SO much more!

Let me know what you think! Enjoy! X
